Calling Passenger Bloom

Una and I arrived at 5:20 this morning on a red eye flight from San Francisco. I'm not entirely sure how this was possible, but we managed to: visit Sonoma and Napa (6 different vineyard tastings), nature walk through Muir Woods to see the Redwood trees, sightsee in the Presidio and Pacific Heights, visit the sea lions at Fisherman's Wharf, sample seafood in Sausalito, Mexican food in the Mission, Peruvian ceviche at the Marina, and pastries and ice cream in Dolores Park. Next time? A tour of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Park, a bike trip across the bridge and more food. We probably need to visit Wine Country again, as well.

Photos to come, but I thought I'd leave you with this beauty that was waiting for me in our pile of mail (the catalogue variety, not the real thing). A copper chest from Anthropologie:

Just before we boarded the plane last night we were called to the gate desk. Based on my travel performance this summer (4 trips in the past 5 weeks alone), we were bumped up to the first row for our way home. Which would have been wonderful, except you actually lose the underseat foot space of every other row in the dang plane, and the arms are immovable since they hold your tray. Ah well.
